53

8.0 FREQUENCY AND TYPES OF MONITORING

8.1 PERSONAL AIR MONITORING PROGRAM:
Continuous air monitoring for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) will be conducted during
excavation activities and work around underground storage tanks (USTs) using a direct -read
photoionization detector (PID). This real-time monitoring ensures that any potential VOC
emissions are promptly identified, allowing for the implementation of appropriate control
measures to protect worker safety.

8.1.1 PERSONNEL SAMPLING OF BREATHING ZONE

ICS will not perform personal breathing zone sampling as all workers will be equipped with
appropriate respiratory protection (such as P100 or HEPA-filtered respirators) and required PPE.
The risk of exposure is effectively mitigated through the use of these controls, along with
established work practices and decontamination procedures. As a result, air sampling is not
warranted for the scope and duration of this activity.

8.2 RECORDS RETENTION AND DATA REPORTING

ICS shall retain all personnel exposure sampling results in accordance with the requirements
outlined in T8 CCR §3204.

Upon request, the ICS shall submit in writing the analytical results from any area and personnel
samples collected within 30 working days of the collection of each sample. Sample flow rates in
liters per minute (lpm) and sampling periods in minutes for each sample collected must be
reported with the analytical results. Sample locations or tasks and identification numbers shall
also be reported.

ICS shall maintain a daily air-monitoring log and include, as a minimum, the following
information:

• Monitoring date.
• Location and/or task monitored.
• Wind speed, ambient temperature, and humidity.
• Instrument used and settings.
• Instrument readings.
