<br />64 <br /> <br />11.2 MEDICAL EMERGENCIES <br /> <br />If a medical emergency occurs, take the following action: <br /> <br />Step 1: Assess the severity of the injury and perform lifesaving first aid/CPR as necessary to <br />stabilize the injured person. Follow universal precautions to protect against exposure <br />to bloodborne pathogens. <br /> <br />Step 2: Get medical attention for the injured person immediately. (Call 911 or consult the <br />Emergency Contacts list, which must be posted on the site.) <br /> <br />Step 3: Notify the Site Safety Officer and Field Supervisor immediately. <br /> <br />Step 4: Depending on the type and severity of the injury, transport the injured employee to the <br />nearest hospital emergency room. If the injury is not serious, transport the injured <br />employee to either of the ICS-approved medical clinics.
