o Q
Aftercare
Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals correctly. Follow these
instructions closely to promote healing and avoid infection:
1. Leave the Bandage On
Keep the bandage or plastic wrap on your tattoo for at least 1 to 2
hours after the session. This helps to protect the tattoo from bacteria
and other irritants.*If you are given a second-skin adhesive
bandage, leave it on for 3 full days. If you have any skin sensitivity to
adhesives, we will not use the second-skin bandage.
2. Clean the Tattoo
After removing the bandage, gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm
water and antibacterial soap. Use your hands(not a washcloth)to
clean the area to avoid irritation, Pat the tattoo dry with a clean
towel or paper towel—never rub it. *With the second skin bandage,
you may remove it by grabbing the two top corners and pulling them
out and away. The bandage will stretch and detach slowly. DO NOT
remove it quickly. Follow the cleaning procedure above after
removal.
3. Apply a Thin Layer of Ointment
Once the tattoo is clean and dry, apply a thin layer of unscented
ointment(e,g„ Aquaphor) or organic shea butter, Do not over-apply,
as too much ointment can suffocate the skin. This step should be
done for the first 3 5 days.
4. Switch to a Moisturizer
After a few days, you can switch to a fragrance-free moisturizer
(such as a non-scented lotion (e.g, Cetaphil, Lubriderm, CeraVe) or
organic shea butter). Continue moisturizing the tattoo 2-3 times a
