Whew trucks are driven into the building there is a potential for carbon monoxide. Standard
procedure is for all trucks to have the engine shut off whenever they are not being moved into
unloading or loading posMan Large overhead doors must be opened to allow trucks in or out of
the building and provide adequate ventilation VentiIaticin ducts are arse present in this area.
Flammable product storage—flammable aerosols, flammables, flammable gasses
Flammable aerosols and flammable liquids are stared in small quantities in flammable safety
cabinets Liglred propane used far the f3UO may be stored in caged areas per fire department and
insurance guidelines
Housekeeping —corrosives, irritants, oxidizers (bleach), sensitizers
Housekeeping and custodial staff routinely use typical cleaning products in relatively small
quantities. All containers mast be properly labeled, acrd appropriate PPB worn when dispersing
concentrated solutions
Ultraclean — corrosives, irritants
Cleaning chemicals used in the Sanis Ultraclean process may include solvents, corroslVes, and
irritants. PPE and handling procedures for these chemicals are addressed in the JSA for the
task
Soiled product — Route drivers, unloaders. and wash alley personnel may be exposed to various
cherrkir i substances, including oils, grease, solvents, dusts. etc. in garments or bulk products
from customer sites_ These substances typically do riot present exposure issues and carp be
frandled with minimal personal protective equipment, such as long sleeves and gloves.
Customers are prohibited from contaminating Cintas products with hazardous substances per
contractual agreements unless otherwise notified. If this facility processes any customer products
containing teal-OSHA regulated or extremely hazardous substances, partners are provided with
additional training and special cion-contact handling methods are followed see Customer Heavy
Metals program and Custerner Health Care Processing program] New customer accounts that
may involve hazardous substances are evaluated by a trained safety staff member before they
are approved for processing
Noise— Gintas Location 922 conducts walk-through surveys with a noise meter at least twice per
year. Surveys concentrate on those areas that are most iikely to have elevated noise level's, for
example the wash alley, wastewater treatment, mat cleaning machine, and boiler roorrr. Should
any areas be identified, based on the noise reading and estimated exposure tirne, that may
approach or exceed the Caf-OSHA action level of 85 dB TVVA, additional work shift noise
monitoring with dosimeters will be conducted.
Heat stress — Heat stress is a concern for both production personnel and route drivers, and
Cintas Location 922 conducts annual heat stress training with additional review sessions as
weather conditions dictate. Cintas partners with heat exposure are provided with ample sLippl'ies
of water and/or electrolyte drinks during warm weather and encouraged to take breaks as
needed. Cintas Location 922 Heat Stress program provides a detailed summary of exposure risks
and controls which include; hydration, roofing areas, fares, acclimatczation, PPE to mitigate heat
exposure (cooling towels), and heat index monitoring/Garnmunication.
Biological hazards — Cintas Location 922 currently processes/may process products that are
potent3afly contaminated with bloodborne pathogens or other infectious substances_ Accounts
containing these products and methods for safe handling are contained in the kocation's
Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan and/or standard operating procedures. If there
may be free liquids in these products, e_g, microfiber mops, special non-contact handling
procedures are followed [see Healthcare Account Guidelines]_ All personnel who may be exposed
to potentially infectious materials are provided with PPE per the exposure control plan, offered the
Hepatitis f3 vaccination series, and are required to attend bloodborne pathogen training on an
3
