Hazardous Materials & Waste Contingency Plan <br />Kaiser Permanente Manteca Hospital <br />1/01/2025-12/31/2025 <br />(b) Storage area description with storage methods utilized, including duration and <br />temperature, if applicable. <br />The facility maintains a secured area for storage of hazardous waste pending disposal <br />preventing unauthorized entry. <br />The storage area is marked with warnings that read in English and Spanish <br />"Danger Hazardous Waste Accumulation Area—Unauthorized Personnel Keep Out". <br />These signs are legible from a distance of at least 25 feet. <br />Hazardous waste storage area is protected from exposure to sun and rain. <br />Secondary containment is required for hazardous waste. <br />Hazardous waste shall not be stored on-site for more than 90 days prior to disposal. <br />(c) Registered hazardous waste <br />hauler is: <br />Clean Harbors <br />Environmental Services <br />1030 Commercial Street, <br />Suite 107 <br />San Jose, CA 95112 <br />(916) 375-2611 x2036 <br />The alternate hazardous waste hauler is: <br />Ramos Environmental Services, Reg. Uniformed hazardous waste manifest and <br />land disposal restriction (LDR) forms will be retained permanently. <br />(e) Describe your hazardous waste emergency action plan, including procedures for <br />handling spills, exposures, equipment failures, etc. <br />The Contingency Plan shall be carried out immediately whenever there is a fire, explosion, <br />spill or release of hazardous material/waste or hazardous material/ waste constituents to the <br />air, soil or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. This plan <br />minimizes the hazards to human health and the environment that may occur as a result of <br />emergencies involving hazardous materials/wastes. The regulations that specify the <br />contingency plan requirements are found in the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title <br />22, Chapter 15, Article 4, beginning with §66265.50. <br />As a generator that stores hazardous waste on-site, we are required to complete the <br />contingency plan. We are to keep one copy of the plan and submit a copy of the plan to each <br />agency that may provide emergency response to our facilities. The plan must be revised <br />whenever the plan fails during an emergency, the facility changes, the contents of the plan <br />change or the regulations change. <br />The Emergency Coordinator (Safety Officer) has authority to implement the contingency <br />plan.
