The containers were: <br />- A 55 gallon black drum containing "Used Absorbent" did not include the hazardous properties and physical state of <br />the hazardous waste on the label. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: the words <br />“Hazardous Waste”, name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, composition (contents), <br />accumulation start date. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: The violation was corrected during the inspection by Tyler Coon , he placed a new label on the <br />drum which included the hazardous properties and physical state of the hazardous waste. No further action is required <br />to correct this violation. <br />This is a repeat violation (Class 2) Violation. <br /> 23 <br />CA Code of Regulations 66262.34(d)(2) 3030017 - Containers of hazardous waste closed except when adding or <br />removing waste. <br />OBSERVATION: The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed on-site: <br />- a black 55 gallon open head drum containing "Used Absorbents" was not properly closed, the 12-gauge bolt ring <br />closure was located above the rim. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and storage , <br />except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: The violation was corrected during the inspection by Tyler Coon , he placed the 12-gauge bolt <br />ring on the drum correctly to prevent spills. No further action is required to correct this violation. <br />This is a repeat violation (Class 2) Violation. <br /> 26 <br />Overall Inspection Comments: <br />All observed violations were corrected on site. No follow up is needed. <br />To minimize person to person contact EHD is choosing to write the name of person receiving the report instead of <br />having them sign. Starting July 1, 2024, all in-office CERS help will be provided at EHD hourly rate ($172).
