Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Subject: Permit Application for Phase II Environmental Site Assessment
2880 Intermodal Way Manteca, California 95336
To Whom it May Concern:
Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. (Geosyntec)has prepared the enclosed site mitigation well and boring
permit application to perform a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for the properties
at 2880 Intermodal Way located in Manteca, California 95336(the"Subject Property"or"Site").
1. FIELD ACTIVITIES
Field activities to be performed as part of this limited investigation will be conducted with
assistance from Cascade Drilling,a California-licensed C-57 drilling subcontractor,for installation
of soil borings and direct-push groundwater grab samples,if achievable given groundwater depths
below the Site(estimated to be approximately 6-15 feet below ground surface (feet bgs)).A total of
eight(8)borings are proposed to be advanced via hand auger, and drill rig equipped with direct push
tooling (for three of the eight borings). For proposed sample locations and boring depths, refer to
Figure I and Attachment 1.
Field tasks include:
Geophysical Survey
Geosyntec will coordinate with a geophysical services firm to conduct a subsurface geophysical
survey to attempt to identify locations of potential underground utilities in the vicinity of the
proposed boring locations.
Soil Sampling
Geosyntec will facilitate the collection of discrete soil samples at eight borings at depths up to
5 feet below ground surface (bgs) to assess soil conditions at the Site. A total of 24 soil samples
are proposed to be collected over the 8 borings. Soil cuttings and decontamination water will
be containerized separately in 55-gallon waste drums for disposal.
Following the collection of media samples, boreholes will be abandoned, as described in
further detail below. The soil samples will be analyzed by a Cal-ELAP certified laboratory.
engineers I scientists I innovators
