Identified Contamination Source Evaluation
12. During an incident from 2012, Although further details of the
located at Peatland Road and hazardous materials cleanup could
Highway 12 (on or adjacent to not be identified, it is likely that, due
northwest corner of Site), a big rig to the media coverage and
and a Chevy Blazer collided and involvement of local emergency
caught fire, spilling "diesel, oil, and agencies, the fluids spilled were
other vehicle fluids... into the cleaned up to the satisfaction of
irrigation ditch." Live Oak local authorities
investigated this incident and
determined that it was widely
covered by the news media. It
appears that the irrigation ditch
involved may be located at the
northwest corner of the subject
Site. (Past on-site)
9.0 RECOMMENDATONS
This report should be seen as a screening tool to identify areas where hazardous
substances may be present on the Site. As part of the land use application
process, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department may
recommend that certain actions be taken in response to conditions identified.
Additionally, any conditions out of compliance with local, State, or Federal
regulations should be corrected; it is outside the scope of work of the Surface
and Subsurface Contamination Report to determine regulatory compliance.
10.0 CONCLUSIONS
This SSCR was prepared for the subject Site, 11510 West State Route 12, Lodi,
California, to identify evidence of any on- or off-site, current or past, sources of
contamination. Several potential sources of contamination, most typical of
similar properties in the area, have been identified and discussed in Section 8.0.
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department will review this report
and notify the property owner if that agency recommends any actions to be taken
prior to parcel division.
LOGE 2548 14
