Procedure Set up :
With sterile gloves after the workstation, countertops chair, stools, trays,
armrest, headrest, procedure area , tables and tattoo machine itself have
been disinfected for three minutes with Oavicide and set up with all
barrier films, disposable bibs, and covers for lights and switches I will
begin to set up the tray for treatment. All spray bottles will be covered
with one time disposable bottle covers. I will put one time use ink, cups,
mixing sticks, a disposable tongue depressor, medical gauze, a one time,
disposable razor and all unopened needle cartridges onto the tray. `these
will stay unopened and sterilized until the client is in the chair and is
ready. for treatment. Once the tray is set up. I will disinfect all ink bottles
so that regardless of what I need for the client, everything is disinfected
and ready for use. I will throw away those gloves once I'm set up and wait
for the client to arrive and I will wash my hands thoroughly with hot water
and antibacterial soap after I put on disposable PPE but before I apply
new gloves to begin treatment.
Procedure Take Down :
Once the procedure is complete, while still wearing gloves the first step of takedown will be to dispose
of all contaminated sharps into the sharps container. I have purchased sealable disposable bags for all
inks, garbage, and gauze that is not blood soiled. All gauze and blood soiled items will be placed into
bags, sealed shut and placed into a closed trash can for proper disposal. Once the client
has left all remaining trash and disposable items will be thrown away. I will then throw away those
gloves and wash my hands with hot water and antibacterial soap. Then I will reapply new sterile
gloves ; Then the disinfecting process starts over cleaning from top to bottom. All of the procedure
area will be disinfected for three minutes with cavicide along with any tools mixers or pens used during
treatment.
