The grout will be
placed in one continuous operation if possible using a tremie pipe. The well box and soil from around the
well casing will be removed to attach a pressure fitting, followed by pressuring the casing at approximately
20 pounds per square inch(psi)for a minimum of 5 minutes to ensure maximum displacement of grout into
the sand pack. The volume of neat cement injected will be recorded for each well and additional grout slurry
will be added to the well casings as needed.Following the grouting procedure, each well will be over drilled
to approximately five feet bgs and the PVC casing will be destroyed.Additional grout slurry will be placed
into the over drilled borings to within 0.5 to 1.0 foot bgs and the existing surface conditions will be restored.
A summary of the monitoring and remediation wells that are subject to destruction by pressure grouting
and their construction details are included in Table 2,below.
The inert waste generated during well destruction(well casing, metal well boxes, concrete)will be disposed
of in a dumpster/Class III landfill.Any soil generated or groundwater displaced from wells will be collected,
contained in a Department of Transportation(DOT)-approved container(55-gallon drums or steel roll-off
bin), sealed, labeled, and characterized for disposal.
VV44
ILA CONDOR
