Martinez, Genesis [EHD]
From: Andrew Francis <afrancis@lsce.com>
Sent: Thursday, May 26, 2022 2:16 PM
To: ehsitemitigation [EHD]
Cc: Gregory Gibson; Shih, Steven [EHD]; Eddy Teasdale; ggebhardt@ci.lathrop.ca.us;
rodb@bradleyandsonsdrilling.com
Subject: FW: Lathrop Test Well Permit
Attachments: Work Plan.zip; Site-Mitigation-Well-and-Boring-Permit-Application-20220525.pdf
CAUTION:This email is originated from outside of the organization. If the results
from this initial investigation identify subsurface conditions that could support a future ASR project, then the
City will initiate a discussion with SWRCB
2) EHD has concern with location of the monitoring wells if they're too close (10', 10 yards?)to the future ASR well.
When monitoring wells are to be destroyed, cement grout will have to be placed/pumped into the well casings
and the gravel/sand packs under possibly tremendous pressure. Given enough pressure the grout may have an
adverse effect on any nearby wells. Please discuss how to mitigate this possibility(i.e. further distance between
the MW and the ASR well?)
- ASR well and monitoring well will be at least 30 feet apart. At present, there are not plans to destroy this
well.
3) EHD requires Stove Pipe be installed instead of a traffic box
- Stove pipe will be used. Monitoring well specifications have been added to work plan (Attachment B). See
well specification included in updated work plan. Section 2.3.9
1
