SUPPLEMENTAL SITE INVESTIGATION WORK PLAN
South Pointe Property
Stockton, California
Scope of Work
to minimize agitation of samples collected for analysis of volatile compounds. Samples will be
labeled with a unique sample ID, and sample ID and collection time will be logged onto a chain
of custody form.
4.4.3 Sample Handling and Analysis
Soil and groundwater samples will be transported in a pre-chilled insulated cooler to a
California-certified analytical laboratory under chain-of-custody protocol for chemical analysis
in accordance with analyte groups listed on Tables 1 through 3, and laboratory methods
identified in Appendix D. It is anticipated that samples will be shipped from the site daily during
field operations.
4.4.4 Borehole Abandonment
Following completion of sampling activities, each borehole will be abandoned with neat
cement grout in accordance with permit requirements.
4.4.5 Decontamination
To maintain quality control during drilling and sampling operations, all reusable sampling
equipment will be cleaned using an Alconox or Liquinox (or equivalent) scrub solution, followed
by a double rinse, first in tap water followed by a final rinse using distilled water. Sampling
equipment will be decontaminated and rinsed between sample locations.
4.4.6 Management of Investigation Derived Waste
Soil cuttings and decontamination fluids will be contained in steel 55-gallon drums, labeled, and
left onsite pending characterization, profiling, and offsite disposal by a licensed waste hauler.
4.4.7 Quality Assurance/Quality Control Samples
The following numbers and types of field quality assurance (QA) samples will be collected and
submitted for laboratory analysis:
QA Sample Type Frequency Detail
One duplicate per 10 samples Duplicate sample to be collected by
Duplicate Samples per matrix,or 1 duplicate per the same methods at the same time as
sample matrix if fewer than 10 the original sample. Used to verify
samples. sample and analytical reproducibility.
If non-disposable sampling
equipment is used, one Distilled water placed into contact with
Equipment Blanks equipment blank per 20 sampling equipment. Used to assess
samples with a minimum of one quality of data from field sampling and
equipment blank per day per decontamination procedures.
sample matrix.
4.5
