PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS
SSS§ 6.0,etc. To assess the permeability of the proposed disposal area soils, percolation test borings
were completed as noted above. The three perc tests were conducted within the disposal area representing
both the primary disposal and 100% reserve/replacement areas.
After drilling, the sidewalis of the shallow boring were scored with a pry-bar to open potentially smeared
soil surfaces and the cuttings removed. Two inches of pea gravel was placed at the bottom and a three-inch
perforated PVC pipe was inserted in each test boring. After these procedures, the borings were pre-
saturated with 12 inches of water approximately 24 hrs prior to the start of testing.
On December 15,2025, percolation testing commenced at 1030 hrs. No standing water was observed in
each test boring after the 24-hr soak period. EHD Perc Test Procedure#2 was conducted for a four-hour
period to induce maximum soil saturation. As discussed below, the depth to groundwater has been as
shallow as 50 ft below grade in this locale.
A summary of the perc test results with corresponding application rates in gallons of effluent accepted per
square foot of soil per day,are illustrated in Table 2 below:
TABLE 2
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS WITH CORRESPONDING
APPLICATION RATES IN GALLONS/FT'/DAY
42" DEEP PERC TEST 83.3 min/inch / 0.123 gallons/ft'/day
130" DEEP PERC TEST 35.7 min/inch / 0.467 gallons/ft'/day
300" DEEP PERC TEST 41.7 min/inch / 0.400 gallons/ft/day
Application Rates adapted from Waste Quality Control for Siting,Design,Operation and Maintenance of On-.rite Wastewater Treatment Systems, based on the Pen;Rate.
Page -3-
Chesney Engineering, Inc.
