Release detection equipment must be tested upon installation and at least once every 12 months for operating condition, programming, and calibration by a properly qualified service technician. ALL WORK MUST BE PERFORMED BY PROPERLY CERTIFIED INDIVIDUAL(S): 6. Any individual performing installations or repairs of UST system components that do not require excavation or backfill must: • Possess or be employed by a person who possesses all applicable licenses and certifications required by the CSLB; and • Possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of a service technician physically present at the work site at all times while work is being performed who possesses a current California UST Service Technician certificate issued by the ICC; and • Possess a valid, current certificate of training issued by the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) being installed or repaired or the test equipment being used. WITHIN 30 DAYS OF SENSOR INSTALLATION: 7. The tank owner or operator shall log into the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) at http://cers.calepa.ca.gov/ and ensure all UST information is current. TEST RESULT SUBMITTAL: 8. The tank owner or operator must submit completed test results for release detection equipment testing within 30 days of performing the test. These results can be submitted by email to ust _sjgov.org or by uploading to CERS. ADDITIONAL BILLING: 9. The permit application included payment for 3 hours of time. Additional time may be required for inspections and review to verify that this UST work complies with all applicable laws and regulations. All EHD staff time spent beyond the prepaid amount will be billed to the applicant at the current EHD hourly rate ($179). PERMIT EXPIRATION: 10. This permit expires 180 days from the date of approval. If an extension to the expiration date is required, a written request must be submitted to ust sjgov.org prior to the expiration date.
