Hazelton Avenue Stockton, CA 95205 Re: Well Abandonment Work Plan Former Knowles Station 1120 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California (CVRWQCB /Case No. 170013) Dear Mr. Wong: Stratus Environmental,Inc. (Stratus)has prepared this Well Abandonment Work Plan(Work Plan), on behalf of the Knowles Family Trust, for the Former Knowles Station(the Site), located at 1120 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California(see Figures 1 through 3). The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) currently oversees an environmental case at the subject property relating to the former use of underground storage tanks (USTs) on the subject property. On December 02, 2022, the CVRWQCB issued a letter which required proper destruction of all Site wells,proper disposal of all investigation derived waste, and submission of documentation of these tasks. SCOPE OF WORK The following work will be conducted under the direct supervision of a State of California Professional Geologist or Civil Engineer and in accordance with standards established by the December 2015 Leaking Underground Storage Tank Guidance Manual issued by the State Water Resources Control Board and San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) well standards and guidelines. In total, eight monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-9, MW-IOD, MW-11, MW-12, and MW-13) and four dual-nested injection wells (IW-IA/B, IW-2AB, IW-3AB, and IW-4AB)will be destroyed by down-hole blasting. See Table 1 for well construction details. It is our understanding that well MW-9, located in the sidewalk, will require replacement of the sidewalk concrete panel, per City requirements. The well destruction activities will occur under oversight of a SJCEHD representative, per permit requirements.
