All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS #2 Pool Enclosure OBSERVATIONS: One of the rails near the entrance is missing leaving a large gap. Repair fence so that there are no gaps greater than 4 inches. Correct today. Close pool area until the corrections are made and verified by this department. (REPEAT) CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool area shall be enclosed by one or more of the following: a fence, portion of a building, wall, or other approved durable enclosure. Pool enclosure shall be constructed over a hard permanent material equivalent to concrete and shall be installed no more than 2 inches above the finished grade. Holes, gaps, or openings in the enclosure shall not allow the passage of a 4-inch diameter sphere. Doors, openable windows, or gates of living quarters shall not be permitted as part of the pool enclosure. (CBC 3119B) Pool operator shall keep the pool enclosure well maintained. (CCR 65535) Pool enclosure shall have a minimum effective perpendicular height of 5 feet and shall be constructed so that it cannot be climbed by small children. Horizontal members shall be spaced at least 48 inches apart. No planters or other climbable structures shall be permitted within 5 feet of the pool enclosure or within a 5-foot arc. Chain link openings shall not be larger than 1 3/4 inches when measured horizontally. Pool enclosures with a height of 4 or more feet are allowed if the enclosure was constructed prior to July 1994. (CBC 3119B) This is (Major) Violation. MAJOR #33 Minimum Turnover Time OBSERVATIONS: The pump was off at the time of the inspection because the pump overheats . Repair or replace pump so that it is in good working order and recirculation system shall have the capacity to provide complete turnover of the pool water for 8 hours for pools constructed prior to 1982 and 6 hours for all other pools. Ensure that the pump is operating to completely turnover the pool within the required time frame when pool is in service. Correct today. Close pool area until the corrections are made and verified by this department. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Recirculation system shall have the capacity to provide a complete turnover of the pool water within the following timeframes: 30 minutes for spas and spray grounds, 1 hour for wading pools, 2 hours for medical pools, 8 hours for pools constructed prior to 1982, and 6 hours for all other types of public pools. (CBC 3124B) Flow rate of the recirculation system shall not fall below 75 percent of the required turnover time. (CCR 65525) This is (Major) Violation.
