FINDINGS FOR FARMLAND PROTECTION
PA-2600014
JORDAN JONES I CALSOLAR
1. The proposed Utility-Scale Solar Energy System exceeding 15 percent of the parcel or five acres will
not adversely affect agricultural production on the parcel where the facility is to be located pursuant to
Development Title Section 9-409.430(b)(5).
This finding can be made because the proposed solar facility would occupy approximately 14.47
acres of the existing 39.65-acre parcel, while approximately 25.18 acres of the parcel would remain
available for continued agricultural use during operation of the project.Although the project
exceeds the standard limitation for Utility-Scale Solar Energy Systems on Williamson Act
contracted land, the proposed use is reversible in nature and does not result in permanent
conversion of agricultural land as the project has been designed to minimize permanent impacts
to agricultural soils through the use of driven pile foundations and limited grading activities.
Conditions of Approval require future decommissioning of the facility and restoration of the
project area to a condition suitable for agricultural use upon termination of the use. Therefore, the
proposed larger site area will not adversely affect agricultural production on the parcel.
