I
10 June 2019 AdvaneedGeo
AGE Project No. 19-4705 L n v i ro n m e n to I
Page 2 of 6
• Soil-vapor sampling.
• Boring abandonment.
• Report preparation.
Each of these tasks is described in greater detail below.
2.1. PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD). In addition, a health and safety plan will
be updated in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for
Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985).
Prior to mobilization, each proposed boring location will be clearly marked, and a utility
clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.
2.2. SOIL PROBE BORINGS AND SAMPLING
One (1) soil boring will be advanced onsite in the area illustrated in Figure 2.
Additionally, a total of two (2) shallow soil borings will be advanced at each end of the
suspected tank area for installation of temporary soil-vapor sampling wells. All borings
will be advanced utilizing a van-mounted direct push drilling rig or a hand auger.
The boring for soil and groundwater sample collection will be advanced to a total depth
of 10 feet below surface grade (bsg), or until first groundwater is encountered. Soil
samples will be collected at five-foot intervals at 5 and 10 feet bsg from the proposed
boring.
Based upon regional groundwater elevation data, static groundwater depth within wells
near the site is estimated to be approximately 10 to 15 feet bsg.
Soil and grab groundwater samples will be analyzed by a California Environmental Lab
Accreditation Program (CELAP)-certified lab for the following:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline, diesel and motor oil
(TPH-g, TPH-d and TPH-mo) in accordance EPA method 8015M.
• Volatile organic compounds, including naphthalene, in accordance with EPA
method 8260B.
