A=COM <br /> 4.0 Procedures <br /> 4.1 Roles and Responsibilities <br /> 4.1.1 Managers <br /> • Evaluate the need for heat illness prevention measures and incorporate as appropriate into the <br /> Safe Work Plan or Task Hazard Analysis. <br /> • Allocate sufficient resources for the management of heat illness in the field including the <br /> provision of water, a shaded break area, and sufficient schedule to allow for breaks. <br /> 4.1.2 Safety, Health and Environment(SH&E) Manager <br /> • Provide heat illness awareness training. <br /> • Assist in developing appropriate work-rest schedules. <br /> • Conduct/support incident investigations related to potential heat stress-related illnesses. <br /> 4.1.3 Supervisor <br /> • Identify those tasks that may be most impacted by heat stress and communicate the hazard to <br /> the assigned Employees. <br /> • Confirm that Employees have been trained on the recognition of heat illness. <br /> • Confirm that this procedure, along with any applicable Safe Work Plan and/or Task Hazard <br /> Analysis(and heat exposure control plan that may be contained therein)are made available to <br /> affected Employees. <br /> • Confirm that adequate supplies of appropriate fluids are readily available to Employees. <br /> • Confirm that a proper rest area is available. <br /> • Conduct heat illness monitoring, as applicable. <br /> • Implement the work-rest schedule. <br /> • Confirm that first aid measures are implemented once heat stress symptoms are identified. <br /> • Confirm personnel are physically capable of performing the assigned tasks and are not in a <br /> physically compromised condition. <br /> • Report all suspected heat illnesses. <br /> 4.1.4 Employee <br /> • Observe each other for the early symptoms of heat illnesses. <br /> • Maintain an adequate intake of available fluids. <br /> • Be familiar with heat stress hazards, predisposing factors, and preventative measures. <br /> • Report to work in a properly vested and hydrated condition. <br /> • Report all suspected heat stress-related illnesses. <br /> 4.2 Restrictions <br /> 4.2.1 The Buddy System is required when working in high heat conditions; Employees shall not work <br /> alone. <br /> 4.2.2 Employees shall not be exposed to levels exceeding those specified for the given work level and <br /> work-rest regimen as listed in S3AM-113-ATT1 Heat Stress— Temperature Thresholds. <br /> 4.2.3 Clothing corrections shall be applied in accordance with the tables provided in S3AM-113-ATT1 <br /> Heat Stress— Temperature Thresholds. <br /> Heat Stress(S3AM-113-PR1) <br /> Revision 3 September 30,2020 <br /> PRINTED COPIES ARE UNCONTROLLED.CONTROLLED COPY IS AVAILABLE ON COMPANY INTRANET. 2 of 10 <br />
