A=COM <br /> 4.6.6 Personal Protective Equipment <br /> Employees who work outdoors shall provide and utilize personal outer clothing (e.g. shirt and <br /> trousers)that meets the established general clothing requirements per S3AM-208-PR1 Personal <br /> Protective Equipment. For those circumstances where the outer clothing requirements exceed the <br /> general clothing requirements,AECOM will provide the necessary clothing. The selection of <br /> appropriate protective clothing will take into account both the need to block UV and the need to <br /> reduce the effects of heat. <br /> • Protective Clothing <br /> o Full length trouser pants and shirts that cover shoulders at a minimum (where practical, <br /> the fabric will have a close weave); <br /> o Where possible, clothing will be lightweight, loose fitting and have a collar; <br /> o Clothing and head wear with a sun (UV)protection factor(SFP)is encouraged but not <br /> required. <br /> • Secondary hazards such as fire resistance will be considered. <br /> • Head, Face, and Neck Protection <br /> o Hats provide shade and the larger the brim the greater the amount of shade that is <br /> provided; <br /> o Full brim hard hats are recommended (for additional protection, neck flaps are <br /> recommended); <br /> o In circumstances where the wearing of a broad-brimmed hard hat causes difficulties due <br /> to its size, sunscreen and other protective measures will be used. <br /> • Eye Protection <br /> o Wrap-around, close-fitting, large safety glasses will reduce the amount of UV and glare <br /> that may pass around the edges of the glasses (the color or darkness of the lenses does <br /> not indicate the level of UV protection; therefore, verification with the manufacturer should <br /> be performed); <br /> o Safety glasses shall provide the level of protection appropriate to the potential non- <br /> ionizing radiation hazard exposures; <br /> o For hot work activities that may produce ultraviolet radiation, eye protection shall utilize <br /> the proper welding shade. <br /> • Sunscreen <br /> o Sunscreen does not offer complete protection against the sun and should always be used <br /> in conjunction with other protective measures; <br /> o A broad spectrum and water-resistant sunscreen with a SPF of 30+, or a rating of no less <br /> than three stars, will be provided; <br /> o Expiration dates on the sunscreen will be regularly checked to confirm it has not expired <br /> per the manufacturer's instructions; <br /> o Sunscreen should be placed in an easily accessible location and employees instructed on <br /> the correct application and use; <br /> o Sunscreen should be generously applied to all areas of exposed skin at least 20 minutes <br /> before going outside and reapplied every two hours, or as needed by the work conditions. <br /> 4.7 Non-ionizing Radiation Training Program <br /> 4.7.1 Employees will receive training where the need for non-ionizing radiation control measures has <br /> been identified in the SH&E Plan and if developed, the Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection Plan. <br /> Non-Ionizing Radiation(S3AM-121-PR1) <br /> Revision 3 July 31,2019 <br /> PRINTED COPIES ARE UNCONTROLLED.CONTROLLED COPY IS AVAILABLE ON COMPANY INTRANET. 7 of 8 <br />
