A=COM <br /> Americas <br /> Hand & Power Tools S3AM-305-PR1 <br /> 1.0 Purpose and Scope <br /> 1.1 This procedure provides the AECOM requirements for all manually operated hand and power tools and <br /> associated use, handling and storage.These requirements apply to tools provided by AECOM for employee <br /> use as well as tools provided by employees for use on AECOM work sites. <br /> 1.2 This procedure applies to all AECOM Americas-based employees and operations and any other entity and <br /> its personnel contractually required to comply with this document's content. <br /> 2.0 Terms and Definitions <br /> 2.1 None <br /> 3.0 References <br /> 3.1 S3AM-003-PR1 SH&E Training <br /> 3.2 S3AM-118-PR1 Hearing Conservation <br /> 3.3 S3AM-208-PR1 Personal Protective Equipment <br /> 3.4 S3AM-302-PR1 Electrical Safety <br /> 3.5 S3AM-325-PR1 Lockout Tagout <br /> 4.0 Procedure <br /> 4.1 Roles and Responsibilities <br /> 4.1.1 Managers/Supervisors <br /> • Ensure that all aspects of this procedure are followed and adhered to on all AECOM projects, <br /> sites and locations. <br /> • If a specific tool is not included in the work instructions related to this procedure, appropriate <br /> guidelines shall be established prior to work associated with that tool, including following <br /> manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> • Ensure compliance with applicable client requirements and restrictions regarding hand or <br /> power tools. <br /> 4.1.2 Safety, Health and Environment(SH&E) Manager <br /> • Provide technical guidance and support as to this procedure and associated work instructions. <br /> 4.1.3 Employees <br /> • Work only with tools for which they are appropriately trained and familiar with. <br /> • Follow manufacturer's recommendations for its use and never modify the equipment without <br /> first obtaining authorization from the manufacturer. <br /> • Comply with applicable client requirements and restrictions regarding hand or power tools. <br /> 4.2 Requirements <br /> 4.2.1 Always conduct a task hazard assessment(THA)prior to work commencing and include the <br /> identified hazards associated with the anticipated tool use. <br /> Hand&Power Tools(S3AM-305-PR1) <br /> Revision 5 July 31,2019 <br /> PRINTED COPIES ARE UNCONTROLLED.
