Universal Health & Safety Plan <br /> For use on all high-risk,industrial and HAZWOPER projects <br /> Department of Toxic Substances Control <br /> Other personnel working in the same area shall be provided with the following information on chemicals used by or provided to <br /> AECOM personnel: <br /> ■ Names of hazardous chemicals to which they may be exposed while on the jobsite. <br /> ■ Precautions the employees may take to lessen the possibility of exposure by usage of appropriate protective <br /> measures, such as ventilation or isolation of the work. In some cases, as an administrative control measure, a task <br /> may be delayed to a time when a minimal number of employees are present in the area. <br /> ■ Location of SDSs. <br /> As discussed in Section 5.1 of the HASP, employees will be trained initially and periodically when use of hazardous or toxic <br /> agents is altered or modified to accommodate changing on-site work procedures.Training shall cover the following topics: <br /> ■ Requirements and use of the hazard communications program on the project. <br /> ■ The location of all hazardous or toxic agents at the project. <br /> ■ Identification and recognition of hazardous or toxic agents on the project. <br /> ■ Physical and health hazards of the hazardous or toxic agents pertinent to project activities. <br /> ■ Protective measures employees can implement when working with project-specific hazardous or toxic agents. <br /> Provide training to all employees who have the potential to be exposed to hazardous materials: a)at the time of the initial task <br /> assignment, b)whenever new chemicals are introduced into the workplace, and c)more frequently where required by site- <br /> specific conditions or client-specific requirements.This training will include the following: <br /> ■ Applicable regulatory requirements. <br /> ■ Location of the program, inventory, and SDS. <br /> ■ Site-specific chemicals used and their hazards(chemical, physical, and health), including the general <br /> characteristics of the chemicals and signs and symptoms of exposure. <br /> ■ How to detect the presence or release of chemicals including the location, types, and usage of any portable and <br /> fixed monitoring or detection equipment and their associated alarms,where applicable. <br /> ■ Safe work practices(S3AM-001-PR1)and methods employees can take to protect themselves from chemical <br /> hazards(metals or explosives constituents in soil). <br /> ■ How to read an SIDS. <br /> ■ Site-or project-specific information on hazard warnings and labels in use at the location, if applicable. <br /> ■ Site-specific evacuation and rescue procedures in the event of chemical release, including the location of staging <br /> areas and personnel accounting procedures. <br /> The following documentation will be maintained in the project file: <br /> ■ Chemical inventory list; <br /> ■ SDSs; and <br /> ■ Training records. <br /> ©AECOM Restricted <br /> Universal Heath and Safety Plan Template(S4(DSC)AM-209-FM-C) 1-2 <br /> Revision 12 September 9,2021 <br /> PRINTED COPIES ARE UNCONTROLLED.CONTROLLED COPY IS AVAILABLE ON COMPANY INTRANET. <br />
