MAIN
STREET, STOCKTON, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CASE #392006
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Central Valley Water Board) staff
reviewed the Work Plan for Monitoring Well Installations (Work Plan) dated
8 August 2019, submitted on your behalf by Antea Group (Antea)for the Buggy Bath
Car Wash (Former ARCO Station #599) unauthorized petroleum release case at 2085
E. Main Street in Stockton (Site). In a 13 September 2019 email, Antea submitted an
addition to the proposed scope of work.
In the Work Plan, Antea proposes to install three monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW-4)
on the southern edge, in the northwest corner, and in the northeast corner of the Site.-
Antea also proposes to install two monitoring wells (MW-5, MW-6) off-Site to the east,
on the east side of C Street. In the email, Antea proposes to advance a shallow soil
boring (SB-1) near the western edge of the former station structure. Antea proposes to
install each monitoring well with a screened interval from 30 to 50 feet below ground
surface (bgs), collecting soil samples at five-foot intervals to total depth. Antea
proposes to advance the boring to 20 feet bgs, collecting soil samples at five-foot
intervals to total depth. Antea proposes to analyze each collected soil sample for
gasoline range organics (GRO), diesel range organics (DRO), benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, xylenes (collectively BTEX), methyl tert butyl ether(MTBE), four
additional fuel oxygenates, and two lead scavengers. Once the five newly installed
wells have been developed, Antea proposes to sample each well, and well MW-3 which
was installed as part of the American Medical Response West case, located south of
the Site across Main Street.
KARL E.
