(Wood), has prepared this Southwest Pond Assessment <br /> Work Plan on behalf of J.R. Simplot Company(Simplot) for the inactive Southwest Pond located at their <br /> facility in Lathrop, California. On April 22, 2019, the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (RWQCB) issued a letter to Simplot requesting that Simplot submit a closure plan for the inactive <br /> Southwest Pond. On October 25, 2019, Simplot submitted the Closure Plan—Southwest Pond(Closure <br /> Plan), which described the general steps that will be performed to close the pond, including a soil <br /> assessment. On November 20, 2019, the RWQCB reviewed the Closure Plan and requested that Simplot <br /> submit a work plan that describes the details of the soil assessment mentioned in the Closure Plan. <br /> On November 22, 2019, Simplot informed the RWQCB that preparation of a work plan with the soil <br /> assessment details and implementation of that soil assessment was planned for 2020.This work plan <br /> proposes site characterization activities to address the RWQCB's request. <br /> It has been a pleasure to be of professional service to you.
