The DTSC collected additional samples from containers that were improperly disposed of into the trash or heated to accelerate evaporation of their contents to the atmosphere (DTSC, 2021 a and 2021 b). These samples were classified as toxic (SP-04A, SP-05A, SP-07, SP-08, SP-09), reactive (SP-04B), or had no exceedances (SP-06). 10.On 9 August 2021, the SJCEHD issued a second Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report, citing a Class I violation for the illegal disposal of hazardous waste without a permit, as determined by the DTSC's sampling report (SJCEHD, 2021d). The SJCEHD directed SPI to cease disposal of all hazardous wastes at unauthorized points.
