PHYSICAL HAZARDS MANAGEMENT <br /> HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURE <br /> 1.0 PURPOSE <br /> This Health and Safety Procedure (HSP) establishes the methods and responsibilities associated with <br /> the use of personal protective equipment. This procedure is applicable to employees and subcontractors, <br /> referred to herein as personnel. <br /> 2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> Role Responsibility <br /> Project Manager(PM) The PM is responsible for the implementation of this <br /> procedure. <br /> Health and Safety Program The HSPM is responsible for the issuance, revision, <br /> Manager(HSPM) maintenance, and compliance of this procedure. <br /> Site Health and Safety The SHSO is responsible for ensuring and verifying <br /> Officer(SHSO) that this procedure is implemented in the field. <br /> Personnel All employees or subcontractors are responsible for <br /> following this procedure as it applies to their work. Any person <br /> employed by CDIM is defined as an employee. <br /> 3.0 SAFETY PRECAUTION/PREREQUISITES <br /> Prior to conducting work, all applicable personnel shall be familiar with this HSP. <br /> Personnel conducting work shall be aware of any known hazards and conditions and will wear <br /> appropriate personal protective equipment(PPE), as required. <br /> Instruments required to conduct work shall be properly calibrated in accordance with the manufacturers' <br /> requirements, and they shall be visually inspected prior to each use. Personnel will be trained in the proper <br /> operation of equipment and instruments. <br /> 4.0 PROCEDURE <br /> This procedure describes some of the common physical hazards found on project sites and methods <br /> that might be used to reduce worker exposure to the hazards. This procedure is applicable to employees and <br /> subcontractors. <br /> 4.1 Slip, Trip and Fall Prevention <br /> Slip, trip and fall hazards will be minimized by following safe access and fall protection procedures.
