Ave., Suite D-2
Modesto, California 95350
Subject: CONFIRMATION SAMPLING OF THE MINER AVENUE CAR WASH SITE IN
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
Dear Pete,
Pursuant to our discussion of July 10, 1991, 1 am Mounding this correspondence to you in order
to clarity an apparent misnomer regarding the soil sampling activities previously conducted of your
Miner Avenue Car Wash site in Stockton, California.
Some concern has been Called recently regarding the subject activities which were conducted on
June 19, and August 0, 1991 at the referenced site. These wncerns seem to be focused towards
the inadequacy of Our 'Site Investigation Activities•. Therein lies the misnomer. Our activities were
ni nor e they eve ended to be, Cons metl as, or any part of, a investigation or site
Characterization. The activties, as the project his cnnotatha% were merely onlimanory and limited
in re Inherent to your original request. As was stated in our June 14, 1991 proposal to you
the purpose of our activities was to determine It petroleum hydrocarbon compounds were present
In the shallow soils at the site near the locations of the underground fuel Change age tanks and
associated pipelines.
As was emphasized in Section 4 of both the July 11, 1991 and August 23, 1991 reports for the
confirmation sampling activities, the objective of confirming or denying the presence a petroleum
hydrocarbon compounds within the shallow sails at the site was met by our sampling activities and
that, without fuller site activities or investigations, no additional conclusions can be reached.
Finally, as was stated in our August 23, 1991 report for the site, we recommended both complete
tank removal and site investigation activitlas to adequately access and characterize the site
conditions. To data our recommendsgons have not been acted upon.
Upon your acknowledgement of reoipt of this correspondence, I will be Ransoming a copy to all
parties currently Involved with the site to clarify the apparent misunderstandings. Please feel free
to cell me should you have any questions regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
Tryi Inc.
Erik A.
