Il Autoclaving Procedures <br />96-Gallon Collection Carts <br />4 <br />The door is closed and the unit’s cycle is initialed. After the waste is autoclaved, the door is <br />opened and the chamber dumps the treated waste into the compactor via slide. The treated <br />waste is automatically compacted into (he roll off container. <br />A. Operating Procedures <br />Bagged RMW, excluding pathological waste, is brought to the San-I-Pak Mark 6N Treatment <br />System in 96-gallon collection cans (see following photo). An autoclave can liner, which has <br />a time/temperaturc sensitive indicator affixed to it is inserted into the 96-gallon collection <br />carts prior to collection. Next, the chamber is placed in the load position. The medical waste <br />collection carts are then loaded into the chamber with the automatic cart dumper. When the <br />chamber is full, it is placed into the sterilize position.
