E. Training <br />of the documentation are maintained in the individual’s personnel tile at the hospital. <br />The training includes the following: <br />e. <br />2. <br />11 <br />No person is permitted to operate an autoclave used to treat RMW without first receiving <br />training. The manufacturer’s representatives provide training to all hospital personnel who arc <br />required to implement portions of the Operation Plan. All such training is documented. Copies <br />1. Classroom instructions on: <br />a. The types of waste that may and may not be autoclaved. <br />b. Waste segregation procedures. <br />c. Procedures for containing, handling, storing and transporting RMW. <br />d. Procedures for containing, handling, storing and transporting hazardous waste, <br />chemotherapeutic waste, antineoplactic waste and radioactive waste. <br />Procedures for validation testing of the autoclaves. <br />f. Procedures for the operation of the autoclaves. <br />g. Procedures for handling spills. <br />h. Procedures for dealing with emergency shutdowns. <br />i. Challenge testing procedures. <br />j. Maintenance procedures. <br />k. Manifesting procedures. <br />l. Certification procedures. <br />m. Procedures for sealing the roll-off containers prior to transport to the facility. <br />Hands on Equipment Instruction for the staff responsible from the facility. <br />a. Loading and unloading procedures. <br />b. Validation testing. <br />c. Operation of the equipment. <br />d. Challenge testing. <br />e. Emergency shutdown procedures, including unloading and decontamination of the autoclave <br />and adjacent areas. <br />f. Procedures for sealing the roll-off container prior to transport.
