<br />2 of 2 <br />Department of Public Works <br /> Mr. Collector -2- <br />HAZARDOUS WASTE LOAD CHECKING PROGRAM FOR THE NORTH COUNTY <br />RECYCLING CENTER AND SANITARY LANDFILL <br /> <br /> If prohibited wastes are delivered to the NCRC&SL, such wastes, when detected, shall be removed <br />from the site by the responsible party within 48 hours from the time of notification and shall be <br />disposed of by the responsible party as prescribed by state and federal laws. <br /> <br /> Any collector who removes such hazardous materials shall deliver to the San Joaquin County <br />Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division proof (proper documents and/or manifest) that <br />subject materials were disposed of properly. <br /> <br /> If prohibited wastes are detected at the site, and the responsible delivering party does not safely <br />remove the waste, the County will then contract with a hazardous waste hauler for removal and <br />ultimate legal disposal. The responsible party will be billed for associated costs. <br /> <br /> Further information regarding proper disposal of the prohibited wastes listed above is available from <br />the San Joaquin County Department of Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department, at <br />(209) 468-3420. <br /> <br /> Solid waste haulers who do not comply with the requirements of the load checking program stated <br />herein will be prohibited from using the NCRC&SL for disposal. <br /> A copy of this notification has been sent to all solid waste haulers who use the NCRC&SL.
