Detection
monitoring wells on western side of the landfill consist of G-5B, G-9, and G-13. Detection
monitoring well G-11 is located on the southern side of the landfill. Detection monitoring wells
G-10 and G-14 are located on the eastern side of the landfill. Monitoring well G-12 is the
background well for statistical evaluation. Samples were collected from wells G-7 through G-14
during First Quarter 2025.
The groundwater elevations during the first and second quarters indicated that groundwater flow
appears to be toward the west-southwest.
VOCs were not reported in any of the monitoring wells that surround the landfill (G-7 through
G-14) during this monitoring period.
Surface water sample locations and lysimeters were dry and no samples were collected. Dry
lysimeter locations indicate no detectable leaks from the liner in those areas. Unsaturated zone
monitoring will continue in accordance with the WDRs.
Results of leachate monitoring are consistent with past leachate monitoring events. The first
semiannual leachate monitoring event occurred during January 2025. VOCs (some at trace
levels) were reported in the leachate samples. The highest VOC concentrations reported at
each sampled point were acetone in L-1 and L-5, methyl ethyl keytone in L-3 and naphthalene
in L-4. Presence of VOCs in the leachate does not indicate groundwater contamination, but
