All Rights Reserved <br /> 13 <br />North County Landfill in preventing groundwater contamination due to the absence of VOCs in <br />groundwater samples. <br />5.5 Unsaturated Zone (Lysimeters) <br />All lysimeters were reported as dry during the first semiannual 2025 period, indicating no <br />detectable leaks from the liner in those areas. The results of the sampling from the first <br />semiannual period are provided in the historical tables in Appendix E. <br />5.6 Soil Gas <br />Landfill gas perimeter migration monitoring was conducted during First Quarter 2025 (January <br />24, 2025) and Second Quarter 2025 (May 7, 2025). Monitoring results are provided in <br />Appendix G. Methane was detected in monitoring probes SG-1 deep, and SG-3 deep during <br />the second quarter monitoring. <br />Soil gas samples were collected on January 24, and May 7. VOCs were detected in soil gas <br />monitoring wells SG-1D (1 VOC) SG-3D (1 VOC), and SG-6 (9 VOCs) during the first quarter <br />monitoring. VOCs were detected during the second quarter monitoring in monitoring wells SG- <br />3D ( 2 VOC), and SG-6 (15 VOCs).
