Whenever there is an imminent or actual emergency situation, the emergency coordinator (or designee) shall immediately: • Activate internal facility alarms or communication systems, where applicable, to notify all facility personnel; and • Notify appropriate State and local agencies with designated response roles if their help is needed. The Emergency Coordinator (Safety Officer) has authority to implement the contingency plan.
