Describe the Emergency Action Plan that the facility will follow to ensure the proper disposal of <br />medical waste in the event of equipment breakdowns, natural disasters, or other occurrences: <br />The Emergency Action Plan that the facility will follow is this: If the Sani Pak were to break <br />down, we would have Med-waste pick up the biohazardous waste to be process off-site, and <br />in case that Med-Waste can't pick up the medical waste, we would reach out our sister <br />institutions for help so we could use their medical waste services. All medical waste would <br />always be stored and is stored in a secure location with a lock. <br />10. Describe the Closure Plan to be used at the termination of treatment of medical waste at the facility. <br />Decontamination of treatment equipment and the remainder of the facility shall use one or more of the <br />following methods listed in HSC § 118295: <br />a. Exposure to hot water of at least 82° Centigrade (180° Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 15 seconds <br />b. Exposure to chemical sanitizer by rinsing with, or immersion in, one of the following for a minimum of <br />three minutes: Hypochlorite solution (500 ppm available chlorine), Phenolic solution (500 ppm active <br />agent), Iodoform solution (100 ppm available iodine), Quaternary ammonium solution (400 ppm <br />active agent). <br />All treatment equipment will be decontaminated using 500 PPM Chlorine <br />Solution. <br />Version: 7-1-25 Page 10 of 11 <br />
