The SSNLS does not support the suitability for standard OWTS usage pursuant to San Joaquin County
Ordinance Code Title 9-604.010 (d). The nitrate-loading estimate for the existing four-bedroom home
and proposed three-bedroom home OWTS is 11.2 milligrams per Liter (mg/L) of NO3-N (Nitrate as
Nitrogen). The maximum contamination level for NO3-N in groundwater is 10.0 (mg/L) set by the Central
Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. As a result, an oversized (2,000-gallon) septic tank will be
required to mitigate the excess nitrate level.
2. The Percolation test conducted on April 8, 2026, yielded percolation rate of 7.81 min/inch. At this rate,
a minimum 8 feet of soil separation is required between bottom of the dispersal field and the
groundwater. The SSNL reports groundwater level between 35 and 40 feet below surface grade. (San
Joaquin County OWTS Standard Table 1.10.2).
If you have any questions, please contact Rena' LeRoy, Registered Environmental Health Specialist, at
rleroy@sjgov.org or (209) 616-3021.
A
Steven Shih, REHSvr
Program Coordinator
CC: Gary Glendenning
7001 E Southland Rd
Manteca, CA 95336
1868 E.
