Shallow Test(s)
TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
1 (Parcel 1) 35.71 Min/In
2 (Parcel 2) 16.66 Min/In
*See Results in Appendix.
6.7 Discussion of any protentional problems predicted and/or the need for an engineered or
alternative septic system. In this area, the soils are classified as Delhi Loamy Sand, Honcut
Sandy Loam, and Veritas Fine Sandy Loam. Due to this classification and percolation rates, and
the depth to ground water a standard system similar to the one found on surrounding properties
would be recommended. If seepage pits are to be used in future septic systems,it may be necessary
to confirm the groundwater elevation prior to installation as Parcel 1 must keep a minimum of 5
feet of separation from the bottom of the septic system to groundwater and a minimum of 8 feet
of separation for Parcel 2.
6.8 Discussion of percolation rates in relation to the type, size and location of future leach
fields needed at the site. Based on the results of the percolation rate and the soils profile, it is
Dillon&Murphy's opinion that Parcel 1 is suited for a typical on-site sewage disposal system with
a minimum of 5 feet of separation between the bottom of the dispersal system and ground water.
A standard septic system with a minimum of 8 feet of separation from the bottom of the dispersal
system to ground water would be suggested on Parcel 2. These systems should be properly
designed and installed according to the current San Joaquin County criteria for standard septic
systems.
Based on the depth to groundwater in the area, and the size of the proposed parcel,it is our opinion
that the installation of the suggested septic systems, if the groundwater elevation is confirmed and
the system properly installed, should not adversely affect the quality of groundwater in the area.
7.0 CONCLUSION SECTION
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding the proposed
development, the use of the subject property, and the site conditions as they existed at the time we
excavated our test holes and performed the percolation tests. It was assumed that the test hole and
percolation tests results are representative of the subsurface conditions in the general area.
Our services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions proposed in accordance
with generally accepted engineering principles and practices.
