Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
A septic system is currently located on the Site to serve the existing house (Plates 2
and 3).
Proposed Septic System
A new septic system will be constructed for the proposed new ADU (Plate 2).
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site addresses; four documents were identified:
• August 2001 permit for septic tank destruction prior to remodel (20795).
• August 2002 permit for septic repair/addition. A 1,900-gallon septic tank and
three 80-foot leach lines were installed (20795).
• November 2009 "Site Information and Authorization" for addition to existing
home, including the addition of an 80-foot leach line to the existing septic system
(20795).
• February 2010 permit for addition of an 80-foot leach line to existing septic
system.
These permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 12 septic systems per
square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The Site is located in an agricultural area primarily consisting of orchards. A few rural
residences and agricultural building clusters are located along the roadways.
LOGE 2619 Page 2
