Universal Health & Safety Plan <br /> For use on all high-risk,industrial and HAZWOPER projects <br /> Department of Toxic Substances Control <br /> LIABILITY, AGREE TO PAY FOR DAMAGE, OR SIGN A DOCUMENT RELATED TO AN INCIDENT EXCEPT AS REQUIRED <br /> BY LAW. <br /> For personal vehicles used on AECOM business, contact an emergency provider. <br /> 4.3.5 Fire <br /> AECOM employees are not expected to attempt to put out fires. Stop work; notify all AECOM personnel, move upwind and <br /> contact 911 and/or emergency response at the site. If employees have been properly trained in the operation of a fire <br /> extinguisher,they may attempt to put out a small fire, if the following conditions are met: <br /> ■ The fire must be small (i.e., smaller than a trash can)and in its early stages. <br /> ■ The employee must have an escape route. <br /> ■ The employee must be trained and know they have the right type of extinguisher. <br /> ■ The employee must be safe from toxic gases. <br /> ■ There must be no hazardous conditions that could quickly accelerate the fire(e.g., presence of chemicals and/or <br /> combustibles, especially dry grass, etc.). <br /> ■ Above all, if in doubt,the employee must not attempt to fight the fire. <br /> 4.3.6 Other <br /> The following additional emergency scenarios could potentially occur based on the site and/or planned scope of work: <br /> ❑ Avalanche ❑ Emergency Rescue ❑ Severe Winter Storm ❑ Tornado <br /> ❑ Bear Attacks/Charges ❑ Explosion ❑ Spill or Release ❑ Wildfire <br /> ❑x Earthquake ❑ Floods/Heavy Rain ❑ No Other Credible Scenarios <br /> ❑x Electrical Live Line Contact ❑x Gas Leak <br /> EARTHQUAKE <br /> If inside—DUCK, COVER,AND HOLD: <br /> 1. Take cover under a desk or table or sit or stand against an inside wall(not inside a doorway, unless you know it is strongly <br /> supported and load bearing). <br /> 2. Hold tightly to the desk or table until the shaking stops. <br /> 3. Move away from windows or objects that may fall and utilize suitable material to shield head and face if available. <br /> 4. Do not run outside during the shaking. <br /> 5. After the shaking has stopped,evacuate the building if structural damage is apparent(per local guidance; use stairs, not <br /> elevator). <br /> 6. Avoid use of the telephone. Replace telephone handsets shaken off the hook. <br /> 7. Do not create an ignition source due to possible gas leaks. <br /> If outside: <br /> 1. Do not enter any building. <br /> 2.
