AECOM <br /> Americas <br /> Hand Safety S3AM-317-PR1 <br /> 1.0 Purpose and Scope <br /> 1.1 This procedure applies to all AECOM Americas based employees and operations and any other entity and <br /> its personnel contractually required to comply with this document's content where the potential for hand <br /> injuries is present. <br /> 1.2 This procedure is intended to protect employees from activities that may expose them to hand injury. This <br /> procedure provides information on recognizing those conditions that require personal protective equipment <br /> (PPE)or specific work practices to reduce the risk of hand injury. <br /> 1.3 All personnel shall have gloves in their immediate possession 100%of the time when in a shop or on a work <br /> site.Appropriate gloves shall be worn when employees work with or near any materials or equipment that <br /> present the potential for hand injury due to sharp edges, corrosives,flammable and irritating materials, <br /> extreme temperatures, splinters, etc. <br /> 2.0 Terms and Definitions <br /> 2.1 None <br /> 3.0 References <br /> 3.1 S3AM-003-PR1 SH&E Training <br /> 3.2 S3AM-208-PR1 —Personal Protective Equipment <br /> 3.3 S3AM-209-PR1 —Risk Assessment&Management <br /> 3.4 S3AM-325-PR1 —Lockout Tagout <br /> 4.0 Procedure <br /> 4.1 Roles and Responsibilities <br /> 4.1.1 Manager/Supervisor <br /> • Implementation of this standard for the applicable facility, site, or project location. <br /> • Confirm employees are familiar with this procedure and have appropriate training. <br /> • Confirm the appropriate hand protection is available on site as necessary. <br /> 4.1.2 Employees <br /> • Recognize hazards to hands. <br /> • Comply with this procedure as well as client or work location requirements. <br /> 4.1.3 SH&E Manager <br /> • Advise supervisors and site personnel on matters relating to hand safety. <br /> • Work with the manager/supervisor to confirm that sufficient PPE and equipment are available. <br /> • Maintain contact with manager/supervisor to regularly evaluate site conditions and new <br /> information that might require modifications to this procedure. <br /> • Conduct training or briefings, when necessary, and to explain the content of this procedure and <br /> site hazards to employees. <br /> Hand Safety(S3AM-317-PR1) <br /> Revision 1 July 31,2019 <br /> PRINTED COPIES ARE UNCONTROLLED.
