EVS®MODELING OF COC DISTRIBUTION IN GROUNDWATER <br /> A 3D representation of the distribution of cis-1,2-DCE and VC in groundwater was <br /> generated in the EVS® software by C Tech. EVS® uses kriging methodology to <br /> interpolate between known data values. In this case, EVS® was used to interpolate <br /> groundwater elevations and cis-1,2-DCE and VC concentration data. The water quality <br /> monitoring data, gridding technique, results, and limitations of the method are discussed <br /> in the following sections. <br /> 3.1 Methodoloev <br /> 3.1.1 Data Used for Modeling <br /> The following areas of RRI were selected for cis-1,2-DCE and VC distribution maps: <br /> • Island-wide(Figure 11, 12); <br /> • Site 3 (Figure 13, 14); <br /> • Site 4 (Figure 15,16); <br /> • Central Area(Figure 17, 18); and <br /> • Landfill Area(Figure 19, 20). <br /> Island-wide plume maps for cis-1,2-DCE and VC were generated using the most recent <br /> water quality data from the 263 wells at RRI sampled between 2006 and 2016 by ERS <br /> (Table 3). Of the 263 sample results included in the models, 126 were from the RRI <br /> monitoring event conducted in the fourth quarter (September to December) 2015. <br /> Groundwater elevations from monitoring wells and the San Joaquin River collected <br /> during the September to December 2015 monitoring events were used to generate a <br /> groundwater potentiometric surface at which the plume models were cut.Only the portion <br /> of the plume within the saturated zone is displayed in models. 195 wells were gauged <br /> between September and December 2015 (Table 4). The surface water elevation of <br /> Stockton Deep Water Channel and San Joaquin River surrounding RRI were set in the <br /> models to 4 feet above msl based on the average fourth quarter 2015 surface water <br /> elevation at USGS stream gage#11304810 in the San Joaquin River at Garwood Bridge, <br /> Stockton (USGS, 2018). The stream gage surface water elevation range was 1.8 to 7.2 <br /> feet above msl during the period and fluctuated daily due to tidal influences. <br /> RRI Groundwater Monitoring Work Plan 15 1 June 2018 <br />
