The proposed requirements <br />and related documents may be inspected and copied at the Regional Board's <br />office at 3443 Routier Road, Suite A, Sacramento, California, weekdays between <br />8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. by appointment. <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />and <br />Notice of Application for Waste Discharge Requirements <br />(National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit) <br />for <br />HEINZ U.S.A. <br />H.J. HEINZ COMPANY <br />STORMWATER AND COOLING WATER <br />SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br />Heinz U.S.A, has requested waste discharge requirements for a discharge of <br />stormwater and 4.8 mgd of cooling water. The discharge is to the West Side <br />Irrigation District Lower Main Canal, which discharges into Sugar Cut in the <br />Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The proposed requirements limit the temperature <br />increase the discharge may cause in Sugar Cut. <br />Additional pertinent information may be received by the Board, upon the <br />request of any interested person at the meeting. After considering comments <br />or objections, the Board may issue waste discharge requirements. Any action <br />of the Board may be appealed to the State Water Resources Control Board within <br />30 days of the action. <br />Persons wishing to comment on or object to the proposed requirements are <br />invited to submit same in writing to the Regional Board no later than <br />8 September 1992. All comments or objections received by this date will be <br />considered in the draft waste discharge requirements.
