Aurora Street <br /> Stockton,CA 95206 <br /> RE:Drilling permit application and Soil Sampling Workplan <br /> Project Address: 1145 S.Aurora Street, Stockton,CA <br /> ENCON is pleased to present this work plan and application for drilling/soil sampling for a subsurface <br /> environmental assessment to investigate the soil conditions at the subject property. <br /> Background <br /> ENCON conducted a Phase I ESA in September 2013. The subject property(the"Property)is addressed as <br /> 1145 S.Aurora St., Stockton,San Joaquin County,CA 95206. It is located on the northwest comer of S. <br /> Aurora Street,and E. Jackson Street. <br /> The Property consists of a 15,000 square foot parcel of land improved with a rectangular single-story auto <br /> repair building and a rectangular single-story office/storage building. The auto repair building is located on <br /> the northwestern portion of the parcel while the storage building is located on the southeastern portion of <br /> the parcel.The remainder of the Property is paved and used for parking and driveways. <br /> Based on review of Sanborn Map Company fire insurance maps,in 1917 the Property was improved with a <br /> dwelling, two outbuildings and a building labeled as housekeeping rooms. In 1950, the Property was <br /> improved with two dwellings, three detached garages and an apartment building. A building permit to <br /> demolish an apartment house was issued in 1960 and a permit to construct an auto repair building was <br /> issued in 1963. Fire insurance maps show that in 1972 the western portion of the Property was improved <br /> with a dwelling,a detached garage and an outbuilding, while the central eastern portion was improved with <br /> a building labeled as auto repair including a yard to the north, south and west labeled as wrecked auto <br /> storage. Building records indicate that the current storage building on site was constructed in 1985. Based <br /> on historical aerial photographs, sometime between 1972 and 1993, the residence on the western portion <br /> was demolished, while the building on the central east portion remained through at least 1998. Building <br /> records indicate that the current auto repair building was constructed in 2001. Historical city directories list <br /> the Property as residential from 1921 through 1955, Clayton's Garage &Tow Service from 1965 through <br /> 1979 and Juan's Auto Repair from 1990 through 2012. <br /> Based on the long history of auto repair operations at the site,since the 1960's,a subsurface investigation is <br /> recommended to assess the risk of a release of hazardous materials at the site. <br /> Tke force in$n✓iroH�mental Dwe Dili9eHce <br /> ✓w NCONer✓cotz <br />
