A Geoprobe direct-push drill rig was used to advance one
soil boring (GP-1A)at the location shown on Figure 1 (attached). The boring was advanced under permit by the
San Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD). One soil sample was
collected at a depth of approximately 14 feet below ground surface. Subsequent to collection, the ends of the
sample tube were covered with Teflon film and sealed with plastic caps. The sample was labeled and packaged
in a cooler with"blue ice,"and submitted to BSK's State-certified analytical laboratory for chemical analysis of
fuel oxygenates by EPA Method 8260.
The Geoprobe was advanced to a depth of 24 feet bgs, at which depth a groundwater grab sample was collected.
The water sample was collected by exposing a screen in the lead Geoprobe rod, and retrieving water from the
boring with a"Tubah®"hand pump. The water sample was labeled, placed in an ice chest cooled with"blue .
ice,"and submitted to BSK's State-certified analytical laboratory for chemical analysis of fuel oxygenates by
EPA Method 8260.
The soil boring was backfilled via tremie pipe with neat cement grout, and patched to grade with asphalt patch.
Grouting activities were observed by Mr. Jeff Wong,PHS-EHD.
Table 1 presents the analytical results of the soil and groundwater samples. Fuel oxygenates were not detected in
the soil and groundwater samples. A copy of the laboratory report is attached.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to Ursa Engineering. If you have questions regarding this report,
or if we can be of additional service, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Respectfully submitted,
BSK&Associates
Richard E.Johnson, CEG
Branch.Manager
Distribution:
Mr. Kevin Post(1 original, 1 copy)
Mr. Jeff Wong,San Joaquin County(1 copy)
Geotechnical Engineering • Engineering Geology • Environmental Services - Construction Inspection&Testing • Analytical Testing
