Miner Ave., Stockton, CA <br /> Site Code: 1187 <br /> Dear Ms. Lofstrom: <br /> Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (Ground Zero) has prepared this report on behalf of Mr. Jay Friedman to <br /> summarize the installation of one groundwater monitoring well and present analytical results of soil and <br /> groundwater samples collected during the investigation. The work was conducted at the request of the <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) to determine <br /> if a methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE) plume is present at the site, and if so to evaluate its nature and <br /> extent. This work was conducted in accordance with the Workplan for Additional Monitoring Well <br /> Installation dated March 5, 2001 and the PHSIEHD approval letter dated March 8, 2001. <br /> 1.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> 1.1 Site Description <br /> The site is currently operated as an automotive repair center by Stockton Clutch and Brake, and is <br /> located in a predominantly commercial and residential area, on the northwest corner of Miner <br /> Avenue and Stanislaus Street in Stockton, California (Figure 1). <br /> 1.2 Previous Investigation , <br /> On July 29, 1987, two underground storage tanks (UST's), one 750-gallon waste oil and one 1000- <br /> gallon waste oil, were removed from the property by Walker Hydraulics of Pleasant Hill, California. <br /> One soil sample was collected at 12 ft below ground surface (bgs) beneath the smaller UST. The <br /> laboratory analytical results indicated total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) concentrations of 370 parts <br /> per million(ppm) and total xylenes at a concentration of 44 ppm. <br />
