SECOR <br /> BECENEDInternalional incorporated <br /> August 9, 2002 <br /> AU G 12 2002 <br /> Project 77CH 92396 00 0170 ENVIRORMENT HEALTH <br /> PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Re Site Assessment Report <br /> Chevron Service Station 9-2396 <br /> 25651 Highway 99 North <br /> Acampo, California <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) on behalf of Chevron Products Company <br /> (Chevron) has prepared this letter to document the results of assessment activities at the <br /> above-referenced site The objective of this assessment is to further evaluate the soil and <br /> groundwater quality onsite and assess if methyl tertiary butyl ether(MtBE) is a potential <br /> threat to a domestic well located on the west side of the site (Figure 1) Site assessment <br /> activities consisted of the drilling and installation of three groundwater monitoring wells <br /> A summary of previous investigations is presented in Attachment A <br /> ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES AND FINDINGS <br /> On May 14 and 15, 2002, a SECOR representative oversaw WaterMark Drilling <br /> (Watermark) of Woodland, California, as they advanced three soil borings (Figure 2) <br /> Soil samples were continuously collected to assess soil stratigraphy The soil borings <br /> were advanced using 8-inch hollow stem augers to approximately 85 feet below ground <br /> surface (bgs) Data obtained from continuous cores was used in the design of the wells <br /> Upon completion of drilling, a 2-inch diameter groundwater monitoring well was <br /> installed in each of the borings <br /> Field and laboratory procedures are included in Attachment B The findings of these <br /> activities are described below <br /> • Subsurface Conditions.
