TURNPIKE RD., STOCKTON, CA MARCH 2, 2001 PURPOSE AND SCOPE V Western Geo-Engineers (WEGE) was contracted by Mr. Robert Fowler to implement WEGE's September 28, 2000 "Workplan for the Installation of Groundwater Monitoring Wells at Arc Pump and Welding, 1211 South Turnpike Rd. Stockton, California". The workplan was approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCERD) on October 20, 2000 (see Appendix A). 01 WEGE's September 28, 2000 workplan specified the installation of one groundwater monitoring well (MW4) at a point immediately downgradient from the former gasoline UST in an area most likely to show the greatest vertical extent of soil and groundwater contamination. A soil boring (SB 1) that included the collection of hydropunch groundwater samples was drilled on December 11, 2000 to establish the vertical extent of contamination. The following report documents the collection and certified laboratory analysis of soil and groundwater samples from SBI. SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION The site address is 1211 South Turnpike Road, Stockton, CA. The 0.33 acre parcel is located at the northeastern corner of the intersection of Commerce Street and South Turnpike Road in an area zoned for light manufacturing and industrial use (Figure 1). The property is located in projected Section 14, TIN, R6E, of the MDB&M at approximately 12 feet above mean sea level (Figure 2). The property previously contained one 500 gallon gasoline Underground Storage Tank (UST), that was used to store leaded and unleaded gasoline from the late 1950's or early 1960's through 1987 (Figure 3). The UST, product dispenser, and associated underground piping were removed from the site in 1987. The property owner has installed three monitoring wells in the course of investigating the soil and groundwater conditions at the site.
