* , CLEARWATER <br /> G R O U P, I N C t <br /> Envtronmental Services r <br /> February 17, 1999 <br /> Mr Harlan Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County PHS/EHD <br /> PO Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 92501-0388 <br /> Re Former EZ Serve Site No 100878, 1012 West Yosemite Avenue,Manteca CA <br /> Dear Mr Knoll, <br /> This letter report documents the results of recent groundwater sampling at the above referenced property <br /> The site is located at 1012 West Yosemite Avenue in the City of Manteca, CA (Figure 1) This work was <br /> completed following San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division <br /> (County) approval of the Clearwater workplan dated June 1, 1998 The County approved this <br /> Workplan during a subsequent conversation in August 1998 <br /> Background <br /> Project activities were initiated in late 1989 following the detection of a suspected fuel hydrocarbon <br /> release, which was observed during the tank removal work in December, 1989 As a result of this a <br /> workplan for the installation of three monitoring wells was prepared by Associates Soil Analysis (ASA) I <br /> The three monitoring wells were installed as planned, with details of well installation and sampling <br /> presented in a report dated April 1, 1991, prepared by ASA Results of well installation and sampling <br /> documented the presence of low to moderate concentrations of fuel hydrocarbon constituents in <br /> groundwater in the vicinity of the former USTs <br /> In response to directives from San Joaquin County staff, a workplan for the installation of additional <br /> monitoring wells was submitted on January 21, 1992 (workplan prepared by E-Z Serve Management <br /> Company) k The workplan was approved, and in a report dated August 24, 1992 Tank Protect <br /> Engineering documents the results of the installation and sampling of three additional monitoring wells <br /> (Quarterly monitoring of site wells continued following their installation In a letter dated February 15, <br /> I I 19913 E-Z Serve cited low concentrations of fuel hydrocarbons in a request for approval to proceed with a <br /> i I 1 I I fI <br /> I M I <br /> 520 Thud Street,Swte 104 o Oakland,Caltforrua 94607 a Telephone 510-893-5160 m Fax 510-893-5947 I <br /> 1 I I <br />
