Box 2009
Stockton, California 93276
Re: Work Plan to Install Additional Monitoring Wells
E-Z Serve #100878
1012 West Yosemite
Manteca, California
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
The ob)ecti.ve of this Work Plan is to outline a scope of work to
install additional monitoring wells intended to assess the extent
of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons at the subject site, located at
1012 West Yosemite, Manteca California.
Previous work has included the advancement of 6 soil borings and
the .installation of six monitoring wells. Three monitoring wells
were constructed by Associated Soils Analysis and the results are
described in the report dated April 1, 1991. Three monitoring
wells were constructed by Tank Protect Engineering and are
described in a report dated August 24 , 1992 .
The results of the laboratory analysis of soil samples collected
during well installation indicate the presence of petroleum
constituents at low concentrations in borings labeled MW-1, MW--2,
and MW-5. Petroleum constituents in soils at MW-3 were found to be
in moderate concentrations. Groundwater is present at
approximately 18 feet below grade. The direction of groundwater
flow is toward the north at a gradient of approximately 0. 0012 foot
per foot. Groundwaterlsamples collected from each monitoring well
contain' dissolved benzene at concentrations ranging from nondetect
to ' 24 ppb.l The initial samplingl event indicates the sample
collected from MW-1 contained the highest dissolved benzene
concentration.
The fourth quarter 1992 monitoring report indicates' slight changes
in dissolved benzene concentrations over the site. Well MW--2 has I
indicated the highest levels with the December sampling event f
resulting in 94 ppb.
I
2550 NORTH LOOP WEST,SUITE 800
'II d 1, X 92202EPO 11
I HOUSTON;I TEXAS 77292-2021
I !
