All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and have the potential to cause foodborne illness. All major violations must be corrected immediately. Non-compliance may warrant immediate closure of <br />the food facility. <br /> #23 Rodents, Insects or Animals Inside Facility <br />OBSERVATIONS: Observed a rodent dropping on rice shelf in retail area and a dead cockroach on floor in back area. <br />Clean and sanitize areas immediately and increase pest control measures as necessary. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Each food facility shall be kept free of vermin: rodents (rats, mice), cockroaches, flies.( 114259.1, 114259.4, <br />114259.5) <br /> #30 Food Storage/Display Properly Labeled <br />OBSERVATIONS: Observed boxes of tea and an almond box and corn flour box stored on the floor in back area. Store all <br />food items at least 6 in. above floor. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Food shall be stored in approved containers and labeled as to contents. Food shall be stored at least 6" <br />above the floor on approved shelving. (114047, 114049, 114051, 114053, 114055, 114067(h), 114069 (b)) <br /> #31 Consumer Self-Service Food Protected <br />OBSERVATIONS: Observed unpackaged dried coconut halves in box on market shelf. Per owner the halves come in in <br />packaged bags and are sometimes opened by customers and left in box. Discard unpackaged dried coconut halves. If dried <br />coconut halves will be unpackaged then display and dispense coconut halves in a way that protects the food from <br />contamination. Correct today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Unpackaged food shall be displayed and dispensed in a manner that protects the food from contamination. <br />(114063, 114065) <br /> #32 Food Properly Labeled and Honestly Presented <br />OBSERVATIONS: Observed dessert box labeled sweet & pastry with name and address of facility on label. Facility does not <br />make any food items, owner said that they portion out some of the frozen desserts into smaller packages to sell at the <br />display cooler. Facility does not have a warewash sink on site. Discontinue this practice immediately and keep prepackaged <br />food items in their original packaging. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Any food is misbranded if its labeling is false or misleading, if it is offered for sale under the name of another <br />food, or if it is an imitation of another food for which a definition and standard of identity has been established by regulation.
