Lone Tree Rd, Escalon CA 95320
APN: 203-210-05, SR0086726
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading (SSNL) Study, dated May 17, 2023 and has the following comments for your consideration.
The SSNL Study was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater
treatment system (OWTS) usage and the potential long-term impact of nitrate to groundwater from the
proposed hypothetical four and three bedroom residences.
Based on the information provided, the EHD can make the following findings:
1. Based on the information provided the EHD finds that the SSNL Study supports the suitability for
standard OWTS usage for the proposed development pursuant to San Joaquin County Ordinance
Code Title 9, Section 9-604.010(d).
2. Percolation test conducted on April 17, 2023 yielded a percolation rate of 2.69 minutes/inch. At this
rate, a 20' soil separation shall be required between bottom of dispersal field and groundwater
pursuant to San Joaquin County Onsite Wastewater Treatment Standard table 1.10.2. Per SSNL
Study, groundwater on site is between 75' to 85' feet below ground surface.
3. The OWTS and its 100% replacement areas shall meet all required minimum setbacks stated in San
Joaquin County (OWTS) Standard and Well Standard.
If you have any questions please contact Francisco Garcia Ruiz, Registered Environmental Health Specialist,
at fgarciaruiz@sjgov.org or (209) 616-3032.
Steven Shih, REHS
Program Coordinator
c: David & Sherrie Van Vilet- P.O Box 720, Ripon, CA 95366
1868 E.
